This is a plea made on my aching cyclist’s knees:
Don’t jump red lights.
glare/shout/tut angrily at those who do
It’s dangerous for the cyclist in question, for drivers, for pedestrians, for other cyclists. It’s selfish as it holds up the flow of traffic. Most peevingly of all (for me, at least) is that it doesn’t encourage other road users to treat cyclists with the space and respect they deserve. Cyclists of London, cyclists of the UK, I ask you: do we want to be viewed as an unpredictable threat, a target on which to vent one’s congestion frustration?
No, I didn’t think so. So please help quell this foolhardy behaviour.
